Learning to Trust God

This morning via a friend, I came across this blogger’s work in learning to depend on God. Susie Davis changed from a girl who guarded her heart against God because at the age of 14, she witnessed the murder of her teacher. This is the story of how she learned to trust him again.

Once Upon a Tree …

Sometimes I think that at the root of cynicism is a reluctance to trust God.

At heart, we don’t believe that God is just, so we take over the job of judging others. But our judgments are twisted and cynical.

At heart, we don’t comprehend how much God loves mercy, so in our effort to follow him, we miss the most important point. God’s mercy is the result of his love.

“16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. 17 For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved.” John 3:16-17 (The Bible, King James Version)
